He has authored a book titled: “Executive Corporate Finance: the business of enhancing shareholder value” (Financial Times Prentice Hall, London, 2004).  He holds a Doctorate in Business Management from SMU University (Switzerland); a Masters degree in Advanced Economics and Econometrics from London School of Economics (UK); an MBA in Finance from CSM-IGS (Canada); a Postgraduate Diploma in Management, Oxford University (UK); a Postgraduate Diploma in Mathematical Economics from Birkbeck College, University of London; and a Bachelors degree in Management from Boston College (USA); He was a Research Fellow in Corporate Strategy at the Harvard Business School (USA), and completed his Advanced Management Programme and Postgraduate Diploma from Oxford University (UK) in 1998.  He is married with three children, Sahir, Samah, and Sabir.
Samir Asaf is a business consultant and trainer.  With over 20 years of experience in functional and general management, he has held directorship positions for more than 10 years.  He was a speaker at the UN Global Leadership Summit (Geneva) in 2006, and at the Asia-Pacific CEO conference (Singapore) in 2009.  Samir is currently CEO of Pinnacle LLP, a consulting and training firm in Bangladesh. 

Samir was Senior Consultant at the International Finance Corporation / World Bank (USA).  Prior to that he held the Group CEO position at Rahimafrooz Group (Bangladesh), a multi-division business conglomerate.  Prior to that, he was Finance Director at AT&T Corp. (USA), and Senior Manager, Strategy & Planning at IPDC (Bangladesh).

Samir is a Certified Member of the Board of Directors, IACMB, USA; Certified Basel II Auditor from Basel II Certification Institute (Switzerland); Internationally Certified in Banking Risk and Regulation (ICBRR), Global Association of Risk Professionals, (USA); Certified Basel II: Pillar 1, 2, 3, and Stress Testing Expert from Basel II Certification Association (USA); Certified Treasury Management Professional (CTP) from Association of Financial Professionals (USA); Certified Cost Management expert from Business Cost Management (Ireland); Certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt (USA); Certified Trainer of FranklinCovey (USA) in Leadership and Managerial Effectiveness, a Certified Master in Business Process Management (BPM), a Certified Process Professional Master (CPP-M) and an accredited Lead Coach with the BP Group.
